Launch of “A to B,” an Online Tool to Find Transportation Options

Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh and its Transportation Work Group partners are pleased to announce the launch of A to B, an online concierge tool to help riders find transportation options based on their needs, preferences and abilities.

A to B provides users with a comprehensive list of transportation options. The tool currently includes 28 options from 20 transportation providers in the county, including those serving older riders, riders with disabilities and more.

“The ability to have diverse and easily accessible transportation options is important for Allegheny County residents of all ages and abilities,” said Laura Poskin, Director of Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh. “This is one way of connecting riders with resources to get them where they need to go.”

To use A to B, riders head to www.AtoBAllegheny.com, fill out a short survey and are provided with results fit to their preferences. A to B is free to use and takes about ten minutes. It is not designed to plan a specific trip, but rather connect riders with possible options for them.

“A to B offers freedom, opportunity and access, regardless of age or ability, so riders can determine for themselves the best transportation option that meets their unique mobility needs,” said Port Authority CEO Katharine Kelleman.

This project was led by Age-Friendly Greater Pittsburgh’s Transportation Work Group, which is comprised of over 17 partners working on key transportation projects that seek to make Allegheny County a better place to grow old.
