Elmcroft of Chippewa has embarked on an exciting new venture to celebrate the lives of the residents they serve. As part of its Second Wind Dreams program, they are fulfilling lifelong dreams of residents at their senior living communities. With their motto, “Here’s to Life!” this program is a terrific way for its senior residents to experience joy, vitality and adventure.

Take Georgene Barto, for example. She has always wanted to ride in a helicopter. Last month, she did just that. Georgene has always had an adventurous spirit and she doesn’t let her age of 98 years keep her from doing new things—like riding in a helicopter. Thanks to Ron Spiker of Spiker Helicopters in Zelienople, Georgene flew through the friendly skies in a shiny, red chopper. Ron made Georgene’s ride especially unforgettable by flying her directly over her beloved hometown of Conway. Along for the ride were a friend of Georgene’s and Elmcroft of Chippewa’s dining services director Stephen Crawford.

“Our mission is to honor the generation that paved the way for future generations by recognizing that there is no age limit when it comes to having hopes and dreams,” explains Melissa Chambers, Elmcroft’s community relations director. “Our residents are celebrating the time of their lives! Their dreams have been brought to life because of our goal to continue to offer programs, services and a lifestyle that enhances the quality of life for our residents.”

Elmcroft residents enjoy many services and amenities, such as three fine dining meals each day, housekeeping services, and enriching activities to stimulate physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Licensed associates are on hand to assist with medication and provide around-the-clock monitoring for all residents.
