Sen. Vogel honors local couples celebrating their golden jubilee of marriage

State Senator Elder Vogel Jr. hosted an event celebrating 50-plus years of matrimony for local couples on July 16. More than 300 seniors attended the event held at the Center at the Mall in Beaver Valley Mall.

Sen. Vogel presented all couples with a gift and personalized certificate of recognition commemorating the year they were married. Refreshments were served and guests were treated to a wonderful set of live music played by organist Melvin Cochran.

Door prizes were donated by Med-Fast, Chick-fil-A in Beaver Valley Mall, McDonald’s, Punk’s Ice Cream Shop in Baden and Kings Family Restaurant in Monaca. The event was sponsored by First Energy.

Glenn and Mary Anne Sanders of Baden won the grand prize of a specially prepared dinner for six donated by Shadow Lakes of Aliquippa, and limousine service for the evening compliments of Shamrock Limousine of Aliquippa.

We wish these couples (and all Beaver County couples!) continued success and happiness in their marriages.
